passport to success

Every student will receive a ‘passport to success’. The passport provides activities for students to complete whilst on the programme.

passport to success

Each Student will receive a passport which will:

  • Encourage students to track and manage their progress and reflect on their learning
  • Include literacy and numeracy tasks
  • Provide year 7 tutors with examples of students work
  • Include a space for students and their parents/carers to record any hopes and fears about their new school
our passport is bespoke and can be tailored to meet the needs of your school

Peer mentoring

The peer mentoring programme aims to provide support for all new year 7 students- individually and as a group, to help them settle in, make progress and to achieve their full potential.

Peer mentors are invaluable as they will have experienced the same issues and concerns and can offer support from a young persons perspective. The aims of peer mentoring are as follows:

  • Provide role models
  • Develop relationships between older and younger students
  • Develop leadership skills with the possibility of gaining leadership qualification in the process
  • Embed the programme within the schools culture

Outreach

Our outreach package is based around supporting students within their school setting. Primary schools signpost students that may struggle with new life at secondary school and our trained staff work with these students on either a one to one basis or in small groups.
