This year ‘The Big Step’ is teaming up with ‘Stitch 2 Print’, to help raise vital funds for a local charity. All proceeds from our 2021 children’s t-shirt will be donated to ‘Jay’s Aim’, a charity set up in memory of James (Jay) Alexander Osborne, who died suddenly and unexpectedly while exercising, from a cardiac arrest caused by a undiagnosed heredity condition known as ARVC (Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular cardiomyopathy). This condition and others like it are not well known , and neither are the symptoms, but once diagnosed these heart conditions can be managed and monitored by the medical profession.
The charities mission is to reduce the number of young people who die of sudden cardiac death in the South West of England. We will be working with Jay’s Aim over the year, in the hope we can raise vital funds for their charity, to enable them to source and install defibrillators in schools and the local communities in which we deliver. As part of their mission, Jay’s aim provide life-saving training to school children across the south west and we look forward to inviting them to deliver sessions during our summer transition programmes.
